Hey Family!
So I was up on IMEEM.com tonight, minding my own business, listening to this SUPER COLD jazz cat named Kurt Elling (get on this cat when you get a chance) when I saw this post as a comment.
Now lemme preface this by saying...I don't deal in telling people what they want to hear. I just give you that 'SHO NUFF' truth. You can choose to use it or lose it...I'll love you all the same!
So back to the story. As I read this post, I couldn't help but wonder (in the voice of Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City lol)...do women REALLY think like this?
Here is the post:
"Find a guy that calls you beautiful instead of hot. Who will doanything they can to make sure your not upset even if its him. Who calls youback when you hang up on him.who wil stay awake just to watch yousleep. Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead. Who wants to show you offto the world when your are in your sweats. Who holds your hand in frontof his friends. Wait for the one who is constantly reminding you ofhow much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you. Wait for theone who turns to his friends and says 'thats her.'"
Really. No, really. Let me rephrase that...REALLY!
You know, often on my radio show I will ask the question, "What do women want?" I have even asked that question here on FB. And I must admit, it is refreshing to hear someone put it into words and in its proper context.
So now that it has been properly articulated, and assuming that it is a pretty accurate account of the single woman's true desires in a mate, I can now officially say...with a new found sense of clarity and with the upmost respect for all women...truly...
So lemme get this straight, you don't wanna be called a "B" or and "H," you don't wanna be treated like a "jump off" so now for good measure, “hot" is not acceptable either. See now you're being real petty. >>>>STRIKE 1!
Secondly, if you're mad, and it WAS my fault (or at least you think it was for God knows what reason or rationale) I'm sorry and I promise not to do WHATEVER it was that I ALLEGEDLY did EVER again....until the next time lol. No really, if it WAS my fault, let's talk about it, decide what went wrong and how it hurt you personally, and resolve the issue.
If it's CLEARLY not my fault and we both agree that it's not...then...well...I'm concerned....but...unfortunately I am not one of your girlfriends and cannot, with any genuine amount of sensitivity and compassion no matter how much I may like/love you, listen to you on this issue for too much longer. So after we initially discuss it, you have two choices...as the song said..."either put up with it or let it go." Period. Please don't ask to discuss it again because we don't understand why you're mad in the first place when you knew what kind of person she was to begin with (FYI Ladies, we really don't care about cat fights between you and your girls. In case you thought we did, we were tuning you out the whole time you were talking. The feedback that you heard was just an innate verbal reflex to unwelcomed and unsolicited external stimuli that we don't understand nor want to understand).
AND NOW BACK TO THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED RELATIONSHIP ALREADY IN PROGRESS. Oh, and by the way>>>>>STRIKE 2!
Thirdly (if that's a word, lol)...I'm sleepy, so I will have to finish this later.................I know, right.......!?!
