Dorsey Levens ends up on the game cover, only to be released by the Pack shortly thereafter. Ends career with a whimper.

2001: Eddie George fumbles in the playoffs, costing the Titans the game. Nagging toe injury commonly blamed for performance issues.

2002: Daunte Culpepper posts his worst career year after being on the cover.

2003: Marshall Faulk, after winning two Super Bowls and making the cover, injures his ankle and misses five games, ending the season with under 1,000 yards.

2004: Michael Vick fractures his fibula in preseason and misses 11 games. NEW BOOK DISSES JAKES, LONG, DOLLAR…AGAIN: Reuben Armstrong follows 'Snakes in the Pulpit' with similar book.

New York, NY (BlackNews.com) - National talk show host and Essence Magazine's #1 best-selling author, Reuben Armstrong, is about to release his next best seller and most controversial book to date entitled Crooks and Homos in the Pulpit. It can be pre-ordered now at (www.crooksandhomosinthepulpit.com) and will be available in bookstores nationwide May 15, 2009.

Crooks and Homos in the Pulpit focuses on megapastors and megachurches. Critics are calling Armstrong's book an eye opener and a wake up call for the Body of Christ. He held a private news conference in his studio to discuss the book and his concerns about the rampant spread of homosexual and thievery that has taken over the lives of many pastors and ministers. According to Armstrong, crooks and homosexuals are spreading their lies and deception throughout the church world like peanut butter on bread. Their lifestyles are becoming an insidious epidemic in our churches and Armstrong is alarmed that few in Christendom are confronting these false teachers.

"Too many churches have forgotten about saving souls. That's because the pastors and ministers are only think about how many women and men they can sleep inside and outside of the church, and how much money they can steal from God people," said Armstrong. He also pointed out that pastors and ministers are misleading their congregations by teaching more about prosperity (material things) than about having a personal relationship with God.

Could it be that the current economic hurricane battering the USA--and the world--is due to the Church being led into apostasy by the megachurches and megapastors? Is God using this maelstrom as an emergency call to his Body to humble itself and pray as 2 Chronicles 7:14 states? You'll find answers to these questions and many more in Crooks and Homos in the Pulpit.

Synopsis of the Book

Do church leaders such as Bishop T.D. Jakes, Bishop Eddie Long, Dr. Creflo Dollar, Joel Osteen, or reported homosexual Pastor Ted Haggard truly understand God's Word? If so, why have they become corporate CEO's, allowing money, greed, and materialism to take over their souls? These leaders are whoring God's people from the pulpit, while teaching legions of pimps, crooks, liars, and homosexuals, who pose as pastors, to follow in their footsteps.

In Crooks and Homos in the Pulpit, author Reuben Armstrong exposes the false doctrine of prosperity and "feel good" message that Jakes, Long, Dollar, Osteen, and Haggard proclaim. You will discover what the Bible says about false leaders such as these men and the judgment they face. Armstrong points out that too many churches have become corporate meet and meat markets. Through extensive research, he outlines what really goes on inside the "house of worship." He exposes the shocking lifestyles of prosperity preachers, the sexual favors given in pastoral studies and Sunday School rooms, and the church hoochie mommas and puff daddies these leaders attract as their groupies.

Armstrong's book is a wake up call to the Body of Christ. He points to the crooks, liars, thieves, and homosexuals who are flaunting their sickening lifestyles in front of God's people, while taking the last dollar that church folk have. Christians can no longer allow the likes of Jakes, Long, Osteen, Dollar and Haggard in their pulpits. It's time for God's church to rise up against all false teachers and say, "Enough is enough! When another officer came with word that Moats’ mother-in-law was indeed dying, Powell’s response was: “All right. I’m almost done.”

Click here to see the video and for more from MyFOXDallas.com.

Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle apologized to the family and announced that Powell would be on paid leave pending an internal investigation.

“When we at the command staff reviewed the tape, we were embarrassed, disappointed,” Kunkle said. “It’s hard to find the right word and still be professional in my role as the police chief. But the behavior was not appropriate.”
Powell, 25, a three-year member of the force, stopped Moats’ SUV outside Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano after Moats rolled through a red light.

Police officials said Powell told his commanders he believed he was doing his job, and that he drew his gun but did not point it. Kunkle said Powell was not necessarily acting improperly when he pulled his weapon out, but that once he realized what was happening should have put the gun back, apologized and offered to help the family in any way.

“His behavior, in my opinion, did not exhibit the common sense, the discretion, the compassion that we expect our officers to exhibit,” Kunkle said.

Moats’ wife, who was in the car along with other relatives, said Powell pointed his weapon at her.

“He was pointing a gun at me as soon as I got out of the car,” Tamishia Moats told The Dallas Morning News.

Ryan Moats told KRLD-FM in Dallas in a phone interview Thursday that after the officer pointed the gun at his wife, he pointed it at him. “I just tried to stay as still as possible to not scare him or do anything to make him react,” he said.
He earlier told the newspaper he thought Powell should be fired but backed off that in his radio interview.

“All I know is what he did was wrong,” Moats said. “He stole a moment away from me that I can never get back. I’m really not the judge on what should happen to him.” [source]

Some Dude is Trying to Make Some Cheese off Rihanna's Beat uP Face

Now this is that wrongness right here! Instead, his reasons for creating the Andy Warhol-like piece—which is featured in the World of Wonder Storefront Gallery’s new group show, Name That ‘Toon, opening tonight in Hollywood—are quite simple…“I thought the bruises in the police photo were interesting shapes to draw,” he says. “And it was cool to color them pink and blue. The incident, which took place near the airport's Terminal 4, occurred between the rap star and Crawley -- his road manager and bodyguard -- and a photographer and a cameraman who were taking their photos, airport police said.

The cameras of the paparazzi were damaged in the altercation, police
said. West was charged with one count of vandalism, one count of
grand theft and one count of battery, according to Frank Mateljan, the spokesman
for the city attorney.

Crawley was charged with two counts of vandalism, two counts of grand theft and two counts of battery, Mateljan said.
If convicted of all charges, West could face up to two years and six months in jail, while Crawley could face up to five years, he said.

Their arraignment hearing is set for April 14 at the Los Angeles Airport Courthouse, he said. The pair were outside of passenger security
screening when the incident occurred.

CNN could not immediately reach the star's publicist for comment.
The celebrity Web site TMZ posted a video of the incident shot by one of its reporters, who was also in the terminal when the altercation occurred.
The video was short and chaotic, and the man whom TMZ
identifies as West never shows his face, which is shrouded in the hood of a gray
sweatshirt.

According to the Web site, after West grabbed the camera from the photographer, Crawley took it from him, leaving the rap star with the lighting component.

The video shows the man in the gray sweatshirt and another man in a red sweatshirt -- whom TMZ identifies as Crawley -- each smashing parts of a camera on the ground.

Then the man in red approaches the camera as it is filming. He reaches out for the
camera, and it appears a struggle ensues. As airport officials arrive, the man
walks off.

TMZ reported that after the incident with the first photographer, Crawley grabbed the TMZ reporter's camera and allegedly broke it.

Police stopped West and Crawley as they tried to leave to go through security to board the plane, the Web site said. TMZ is partly owned by AOL, part of CNN's
parent company, Time Warner.

West quickly became a hip-hop star after his first album, "College Dropout," debuted in 2004, earning him a best rap album Grammy that year. He twice matched that feat with 2005's "Late Registration" and 2007's "Graduation."
West also has won three best rap song Grammys for his hits "Jesus Walks," "Diamonds from Sierra Leone" and "Good Life." His other four Grammys include two best rap solo performance awards, one for best rap performance by a duo or group, and one for best R&B song for his role in helping write "You Don't Know My Name," a song performed by Alicia Keys.

The platinum rapper is also known for controversial outbursts, most
notably in 2005, when he went off script during an NBC telethon for victims of Hurricane Katrina, saying, "George Bush doesn't care about black people."

Jay Z's Got His Hands in Everything...and it's MARVELOUS!

I tell you, as much as the media wants to put down rap artists, alot of them are actually doing big things. Not just Jay, but others who have shown the way to legit business outside of hip hop. And the funny thing is, even though they (hip hop/R&B artists) are at the top of the entertainment earnings list every year, they still don't seem to get the same amount of respect from the business world. Makes you wonder, don't it!

Shout out to my friends at Woooha.com for this one:

JAY Z as part owner of the New Jersey Nets...

The Sporting News confirms that Jay-Z’s Nets are still on track to move to
Brooklyn for the 2011-2012 season.

New Jersey Nets CEO Brett Yormark said the team is committed to moving to Brookyln in time for the 2011-12 season, according to Bloomberg News.

“We’ll be there for the ‘11-’12 season. We’ve pre-sold 20 percent of our suites.” Yormark said in a report published on Friday. “We’ve got eight of our 14 founding partnerships already completely signed. Next week, we’ll announce our ninth.”

Perfect timing for LeBron to come in when he is up for free agency after the 2010 season. And do I hear a Hova Arena in the works?
And MediaTakeOut.com for this one...

JAY Z as manager for Brandy?

Jay Z can add a new title to his list of accomplishments – platinum selling rapper, NBA owner, real estate mogul, restaurateur … and now business manager. MediaTakeOut.com just got EXCLUSIVE confirmation that Jigga has begun managing recording artists.And it’s not just new artists either.
MediaTakeOut.com just caught wind that Jigga’s first artist is R&B singer
Brandy Norwood. Brandy had been managed for most of her career by her mother Sonya Norwood. It’s not clear whether Jigga’s “management” deal with Brandy will be exclusive – or whether Sonya will stay on as a co-manager.We’ll get you more details as we get ‘em…

Michael Jackson is STILL the King!

Even if his hands still smell like baby booty, MICHAEL JACKSON IS STILL THE KING OF POP! And don't you B*TCHES forget it!

He sold 750,000 tickets in only 4 hours!!!!!! Here's how CNN reports it:

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Tickets for Michael Jackson's 50 "final curtain call"
concerts in London sold out in little over four hours Friday.

Michael Jackson has sold out 50 concerts at London's O2 Arena.

The tickets went on sale at 7 a.m., with fans queuing since Wednesday.
They were limited to four tickets per household at a cost of up to $105 for
general admission. VIP tickets cost up to $1,100. Around 750,000 were sold.

Tickets have already appeared online for resale, with one person seeking
$35,000 for VIP tickets to the opening show on July 8.

Jackson originally announced he would do 10 shows at London's 20,000-capacity 02 Arena, but huge demand has seen a further 40 dates added. The king of pop's run is now
scheduled to finish next February.

O2 owners, AEG Live, said due to the "incredible level of interest" --
pre-sale tickets to 10 concerts offered on Thursday sold out within minutes --
Jackson had agreed to add the extra dates.

Chris Edmonds, Ticketmaster's managing director, said they "had witnessed an unprecedented level of demand" for the concerts.

Ayesha Obi was the first in line at the O2 to get a ticket and was in tears.

"I was hoping to just get the opening night. Any good seats would've been fantastic. But front row? I'm over the moon. I'm very happy. Very proud. Really pleased."

She had been at the venue since Wednesday night but said it was worth it.

"I've always wanted to see him perform live. I'm happy he's given us that opportunity now.

"He's a legend despite all the controversy in his past."

Gennaro Castaldo, spokesman for UK music retailer HMV, said Jackson was already reaping the benefits of hosting the concerts.

"Sales of Michael's albums are starting to show a discernible increase, albeit from a
relatively low sales base at this early stage. However, if demand is picking up now, imagine what it will be like in July, when Michael actually kicks off his live performances."

Castaldo said sales of his "King Of Pop" album released in August had increased four-fold, while sales of "Thriller" had nearly doubled.

Jackson, a child star with the Jackson Five who went on to enjoy stellar solo success with classic albums such as "Thriller" and "Bad," has rarely been seen in public since he was acquitted on child molestation charges in the U.S. in 2005. Timeline gallery of the highs and lows of Jackson's life »

Rumors of financial difficulties and health problems -- in 2008 he was photographed being pushed in a wheelchair -- have swirled around the famously eccentric star in recent years.

Last year he sold his iconic Neverland ranch and he has spent much of his time since his acquittal living in Bahrain.

The auction house, Julien's, is selling Jackson's Neverland property
including the gates, the singer's famed white-jeweled glove and a stretched
Rolls Royce.

Jackson hasn't recorded a studio album since "Invincible" -- his 10th solo record -- in
2001. His last major series of concerts was a world tour to promote the "HIStory" album in 1996 and 1997.

"Thriller," released in 1982 and containing classic Jackson hits such as "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and the title track, is the best-selling album of all time. Since New Line gave him that initial opportunity, Dre has been kicking it with New Line ever since. He signed a production deal with the studio a couple years back and now his first major project has finally been announced, a N.W.A. biopic. Our studio sources at New Line say the film, called Straight Outta Compton, has been in development stages for awhile now but with the Biggie movie, and announcements of a Tupac flick and a Run DMC one as well, it was time for New Line to go public. Under the current deal structure, the film would be a three-way production deal with Cube Vision (Ice Cube’s production company), Dr. Dre and Eazy-E’s widow Tomica Wright. All three have current production companies which leaves Ren and Yella with a smaller piece of the pie.
You talk about hip hop history, young fans of hip hip MUST know the story of how NWA (love 'em or hate 'em) truly changed the game. If he is convicted, the sentence could range from probation to four years and eight months in prison, the office said.
It identified the woman only as his girlfriend, Robyn F. Rihanna's full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty.

Brown was scheduled to appear in court later Thursday.

Twenty-one-year-old Rihanna was allegedly attacked by Brown on a Los Angeles street before the two were to perform at the Grammys on February 8.
Brown apologized for the incident last month.

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," the 19-year-old said in a statement released by his spokesman. "I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."

A search warrant used by police to obtain cell phone records related to the case included the sworn statement by Los Angeles Police Detective DeShon Andrews in which he detailed what allegedly happened in the early morning hours of February 8.

According to the statement:

"Brown was driving a vehicle with Robyn F. as the front passenger on an unknown street in Los Angeles. Robyn F. picked up Brown's cellular phone and observed a three-page text message from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.

"A verbal argument ensued and Brown pulled the vehicle over on an unknown street, reached over Robyn F. with his right hand, opened the car door and attempted to force her out. Brown was unable to force Robyn F. out of the vehicle because she was wearing a seat belt. When he could not force her to exit, he took his right hand and shoved her head against the passenger window of the vehicle, causing an approximate one-inch raised circular contusion.

"Robyn F. turned to face Brown and he punched her in the left eye with his right hand. He then drove away in the vehicle and continued to punch her in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand. The assault caused Robyn F.'s mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter all over her clothing and the interior of the vehicle.

"Brown looked at Robyn F. and stated, 'I'm going to beat the s--t out of you when we get home! You wait and see!' "

The detective said she then used her cell phone to call her personal assistant ... who did not answer.

"Robyn F. pretended to talk to her and stated, 'I'm on my way home. Make sure the police are there when I get there.'

"After Robyn F. faked the call, Brown looked at her and stated, 'You just did the stupidest thing ever! Now I'm really going to kill you!'

"Brown resumed punching Robyn F. and she interlocked her fingers behind her head and brought her elbows forward to protect her face. She then bent over at the waist, placing her elbows and face near her lap in [an] attempt to protect her face and head from the barrage of punches being levied upon her by Brown.

"Brown continued to punch Robyn F. on her left arm and hand, causing her to suffer a contusion on her left triceps (sic) that was approximately two inches in diameter and numerous contusions on her left hand.

"Robyn F. then attempted to send a text message to her other personal assistant. Brown snatched the cellular telephone out of her hand and threw it out of the window onto an unknown street.

"Brown continued driving and Robyn F. observed his cellular telephone sitting in his lap. She picked up the cellular telephone with her left hand and before she could make a call he placed her in a head lock with his right hand and continued to drive the vehicle with his left hand.

"Brown pulled Robyn F. close to him and bit her on her left ear. She was able to feel the vehicle swerving from right to left as Brown sped away. He stopped the vehicle ... and Robyn F. turned off the car, removed the key from the ignition and sat on it.

"Brown did not know what she did with the key and began punching her in the face and arms. He then placed her in a head lock positioning the front of her throat between his bicep and forearm. Brown began applying pressure to Robyn F.'s left and right carotid arteries, causing her to be unable to breathe and she began to lose consciousness.

"She reached up with her left hand and began attempting to gouge his eyes in an attempt to free herself. Brown bit her left ring and middle fingers and then released her. While Brown continued to punch her, she turned around and placed her back against the passenger door. She brought her knees to her chest, placed her feet against Brown's body and began pushing him away. Brown continued to punch her on the legs and feet, causing several contusions.

"Robyn F. began screaming for help and Brown exited the vehicle and walked away. A resident in the neighborhood heard Robyn F.'s plea for help and called 911, causing a police response. An investigation was conducted and Robyn F. was issued a Domestic Violence Emergency Protective Order."
At the end of his statement, Andrews said Brown sent her text message apologizing nine days later.

"In the text message, Brown apologized for what he had done to Robyn F. and advised [the second personal assistant] that he was going to get help."

Tupac Still Making Paper from the Grave...And I'm Broke ALIVE!!

When Tupac Shakur was serving prison time way back in 1995 on sexual assault charges he wrote an entire film screenplay called Live 2 Tell. Rumors of this screenplay being turned into a feature film have been floating around since 2007….and contrary to popular belief, Live 2 Tell is not the recently publicized Tupac biopic that his mother is currently in a court battle over.
Live 2 Tell is actually a completely original screenplay written by Tupac and is centered around a drug kingpin trying to get out of the game. The script had been circulating Hollywood since 2005 and shopped around directly by Tupac’s mother who has executive producer credit. The movie rights currently are held with Insomnia Productions which produced the hit HBO series “Rome” and is slated for a VERY tentative 2010 release. Official synopsis as follows:

A charismatic young man at the dawn of adulthood spirals down the wrong path in life and is brought into the underworld by his once trusted mentor, only to
become one of the most powerful and feared kingpins in the city. Eventually his
conscience gets the better of him and he is driven to self redemption in life…
and love.

Considering this movie has been stuck in development hell for the past couple of years, no director or studio is attached, and Afeni Shakur is now concentrating more than ever on bringing her son’s biopic back to life, it will be no surprise if Live 2 Tell never makes it to the big screen.

Damn Chris...This is What Rihanna Told the PO POs about what happened...

AMAZING! This story continues to push ahead.

According to reports, here is what Rihanna told the police happened to her in the car that night.

I STILL don't think this is the full story, but here it goes.........
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Here's how FOX 11 in Los Angeles is reporting it:

Rihanna read a three-page text message on Brown's phone from a woman. An argument ensued and Brown allegedly tried forcing Rihanna out of the car but couldn't because she was wearing her seat belt.

Brown then allegedly shoved Rihanna's head against the passenger window. When Rihanna turned to face him, Brown punched her, then continued punching her while driving.

Blood spattered all over Rihanna's clothing and in the interior of the car. Her mouth was filled with blood.

Brown allegedly told Rihanna, "I'm going to beat the **** out of you when we get home. You wait and see."

Rihanna called her assistant and left a message saying, "I am on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there."

Brown then replied, "You just did the stupidest thing ever. I'm going to kill you."
According to the report, Brown continued to punch Rihanna, bit her on her ear, her fingers and put her in a headlock -- she almost lost consciousness.

Jazmine Sullivan Lands A Movie Role

Up and coming R n’ B artist Jasmine Sullivan, a recipient of five Grammy nominations, takes a leap into acting with her first film role to begin shooting in April. The Philadelphia singer/songwriter has a plum role in director Anthony Hemingway’s “Red Tails,” reports Billboard.

“I play a singer who entertains soldiers,” says Sullivan, who will appear in the movie alongside current touring partner Ne-Yo. “I’m really just entertainment for them, but I kind of get a little relationship going with one of them. So that’s very exciting.” “I used to act when I was younger, in little plays,” adds Sullivan, who attended Philadelphia’s Creative and Performing Arts high school.“It never was really a passion of mine. It’s just something I did and I could do. Anything where I can be creative, I like to do.”

Sullivan also has a TV project in the works but says she can’t reveal details yet. She’s not yet sure about a fourth single from her debut album “Fearless,” and a follow CD appears to be on the back burner at the moment. “I haven’t discussed it with the label [Atlantic],” Sullivan says. “They aren’t pressuring me yet. I think we all are trying to get (’Fearless’) heard worldwide. But I am thinking of songs these days.

“I took a break (from writing). I didn’t have an inspiration or anything like that for a little while. But now it’s starting to come to me. I don’t like to force things; as they come to me, I put the ideas down and…roll from there.”

As for going 0-for-5 at this year’s Grammy Awards, Sullivan said it’s all good. Her time will come.

“I’m not at all upset,” said the artist, nominated for best new artist and in various R&B categories. “Everybody who was nominated pretty much was deserving. I have a long career ahead of me, so this is not my last Grammys, hopefully.”

Your Weekly Dose of The Boondocks...

You knew someone was gonna think of it eventually....

HorraY!!!! They weren't passengers. They were the nation's first all black all female flight crew.

Meet airline captain Rachelle Jones, first officer Stephanie Grant, and flight attendants Diana Galloway and Robin Rogers. When they worked that ASA flight from Atlanta to Nashville they never expected to make history. In fact, it was a matter of chance.

"The first officer became ill and was replaced with Stephanie," said Galloway.
"When I got to the cockpit and I saw Rachelle -- we just met a few weeks prior," Grant said. "And I was just ecstatic when I saw her in there."

"We did not realize the historic ramifications of it," Rogers said. "We were just like, okay this is gonna be fun."

But Captain Rachelle Jones got it right away. She and Grant in the cockpit, Galloway and Rogers in the cabin -- all black, all female.

"I said this could be a first, so let's be on our P's and Q's," Jones said.

"I think we had a little more pep in our step," said Galloway. "I think we were just so proud."

They took a lot pictures because their history just happened to be during Black History Month.

"I'm still tingling about it," said Rogers. "This is great. It's spectacular."

"It still hasn't hit me now," said Jones. "I was just excited. I called my mom, my family and said guess what happened today."

Jones is one of only ten black female airline captains in the country. She used to be a customer service agent for Delta. Piloting was never on her radar until a friend suggested it.

"And it paid off -- and this was my goal -- to be here where I am today," she said. "And I'm so happy at what I've accomplished."

As little girls, they'd never seen anyone who looked like them piloting a plane. Now for other little girls, they're proof you really can be whatever you want to be.
"Fate may have a little bit to do with it, but for everyone that will look at us as role models or look to aspire to be what we are today, they need to know that it was hard work and dedication to get here," Grant said.

"Young girls need to see that yes they can be flight attendants and yes they can be pilots," said Jones. "The sky is the limit."

Atlantic Southeast Airlines has three black female pilots. They care for each other. While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves.”

Approximately two hours later, UsMagazine.com cited a “Rihanna pal” as confirming the reunion and saying, “She’s not listening to anyone. And of course Puff [Diddy] got involved in this.”

The site also reported the pal as saying that Brown has been seen “smiling, riding a jet ski, and flexing his arm muscles,” and that Rihanna arrived four days ago.

Not an hour later, Us quoted Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, as saying, “I love my daughter with whatever road she takes. I’m behind her win or lose. I will be supportive. If that’s the road she wants to choose, I’m behind her. I hope to see her soon. I talked to her after her birthday, and she told me she’s OK.” Fenty had spoken with both magazines earlier this month, and told People that he hoped Rihanna would “stand up for women all over the world” and added of Brown, “You think you know somebody, but you really don’t.”

At press time, reps for Chris Brown, Rihanna and Diddy had not responded to MTV News’ requests for comment on the reunion reports.

Friday’s news comes less than three weeks after the couple’s alleged altercation early on February 8, which caused both to miss scheduled appearances at the Grammy Awards.

In recent days, many media outlets have reported that the couple have been in contact, citing unidentified sources. Rihanna issued a statement last Friday saying that she “remains strong [and] is doing well.” Brown issued a statement the week before saying he’s “sorry and saddened … over what transpired.”

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://theagspot.blogspot.com/2009/03/reunited.html' title='REUNITED...and it feels so good!! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PASS IT ON.
For those who really needed to hear this, I hope it pushes you forward to AMAZING things!

Thanks to Latrice for passing this along...

Your Boy A.G.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Number One Dream Killer: Doing What Works
Article by contributor Jonathan Mead
What’s the number one dream killer?
Doing what works.
By doing what works, I mean following a safe, easy, path where it’s unlikely you’ll find much that’s unknown. It’s comfortable and secure, so we think.
I don’t know about you, but I want more than just security. I want to live not simply survive.
If we want to have any hope at making our dreams a reality, we have to carve out our own path. We have to find a way to get paid to be ourselves. We must drop conventional wisdom (collective assumption) and break away from the herd.
But that takes courage, doesn’t it? It’s not easy taking giant leaps of faith, especially when you don’t know if there will be any floor beneath your next step.
So in order to start living on our own terms, we need to do two things:
Stop caring, and…
Break our uncertainty threshold.
Since it’s the simplest of the two, let’s start with why we need to stop caring.
This may seem shocking to you, but much of what’s standing in the way of you and your dreams is caring a bit too much about things that really don’t matter.
Your caring too much about having new cool things causes you to spend money on things you don’t need. That money could go toward a fund for transitioning to open your own business, and doing something you love. Your caring about what other people think keeps you from asking for help — or asking for what you want — that could further you on the path toward your dreams. In the same way, caring too much about not knowing where to start keeps you paralyzed, and causes you to not take action.
This kind of caring is unhealthy. It’s getting in the way of you living the life you want to lead.
So the first step is: stop caring.
You don’t know how to stop caring? It’s very simple, so don’t over complicate it. Imagine what you’d do with a hot piece of coal in your hand. Naturally, you would drop it immediately. Do the same thing with caring about things that aren’t important. Scary? Yes. Worth it? Hell yes!
The second thing you need to do is push your uncertainty threshold.
We all have a certain limit, or threshold, for the amount of uncertainty we can handle. For some of us, we have such a low limit, we’re afraid of even simple things, like talking to a stranger. We can’t predict what the person we’ll say, so we can’t tolerate the uncertainty. This is on the lower end of the spectrum. The higher end of the scale might be not being able to quit your job and follow your passion. There’s no way you can foresee what will happen, so you let uncertainty keep you from taking action.
The thing is, what’s holding you back is mostly illusory fears. None of them are based on past events, or any real data. It’s all in your head.
So in order to pursue our dreams, we have to stop caring about not knowing. We have to push our uncertainty limit, to be able to tolerate bigger and bigger risks. You can start small by talking to stranger or telling someone how you really feel when you would normally hold back.
Whenever you feel afraid of doing something, question where the fear is coming from. Is it real, or imagined? Are you in any perceived physical danger? If not, do what you are afraid of. Push your uncertainty limit. Your dreams depend on it.
The more you do this, the more you’ll be unafraid to take bigger and bigger risks. You’ll become a lion instead of a mouse. Your dreams will start taking root in the world.
Is this REALLY what women want? As I read this post, I couldn't help but wonder (in the voice of Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City lol)...do women REALLY think like this?
Here is the post:
"Find a guy that calls you beautiful instead of hot. Who will doanything they can to make sure your not upset even if its him. Who calls youback when you hang up on him.who wil stay awake just to watch yousleep. Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead. Who wants to show you offto the world when your are in your sweats. Who holds your hand in frontof his friends. Wait for the one who is constantly reminding you ofhow much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you. Wait for theone who turns to his friends and says 'thats her.'"
Really. No, really. Let me rephrase that...REALLY!
You know, often on my radio show I will ask the question, "What do women want?" I have even asked that question here on FB. And I must admit, it is refreshing to hear someone put it into words and in its proper context.
So now that it has been properly articulated, and assuming that it is a pretty accurate account of the single woman's true desires in a mate, I can now officially say...with a new found sense of clarity and with the upmost respect for all women...truly...
So lemme get this straight, you don't wanna be called a "B" or and "H," you don't wanna be treated like a "jump off" so now for good measure, “hot" is not acceptable either. See now you're being real petty. >>>>STRIKE 1!
Secondly, if you're mad, and it WAS my fault (or at least you think it was for God knows what reason or rationale) I'm sorry and I promise not to do WHATEVER it was that I ALLEGEDLY did EVER again....until the next time lol. No really, if it WAS my fault, let's talk about it, decide what went wrong and how it hurt you personally, and resolve the issue.
If it's CLEARLY not my fault and we both agree that it's not...then...well...I'm concerned....but...unfortunately I am not one of your girlfriends and cannot, with any genuine amount of sensitivity and compassion no matter how much I may like/love you, listen to you on this issue for too much longer. So after we initially discuss it, you have two choices...as the song said..."either put up with it or let it go." Period. Please don't ask to discuss it again because we don't understand why you're mad in the first place when you knew what kind of person she was to begin with (FYI Ladies, we really don't care about cat fights between you and your girls. In case you thought we did, we were tuning you out the whole time you were talking. The feedback that you heard was just an innate verbal reflex to unwelcomed and unsolicited external stimuli that we don't understand nor want to understand).
AND NOW BACK TO THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED RELATIONSHIP ALREADY IN PROGRESS. Oh, and by the way>>>>>STRIKE 2!
Thirdly (if that's a word, lol)...I'm sleepy, so I will have to finish this later.................I know, right.......!?!
<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://theagspot.blogspot.com/2009/01/is-this-really-what-women-want.html' title='Is this REALLY what women want?
